The Bahamas Department of Inland Revenue announced that in April 2015 a new online portal to accept applications and payments for business licenses will be launched.
The new portal will provide businesses with an easy, simple, and user-friendly application and payment system. All submitted documentation and information will be processed online and afterwards the system will generate an automatic response confirming the receipt of application and/or payments. The system significantly reduces the waiting time of the application and provides comfort in the ability to check the application's status online. Moreover, one of the most significant provisions of this portal, is that the licenses will be obtained electronically, via e-mail.
