On 11th July UAE and Cyprus have strengthen bilateral relations. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, the UAE Foreign Minister and President Nicos Anastasiades have met on the Inauguration of the UAE Embassy in Nicosia, Cyprus

UAE Embassy is a key point  to strengthen bilateral relations, as now both individuals and companies may enquire various matters including visas and legalisation matters at the Embassy.

Facts on Cyprus - UAE bilateral relations:  
  • Cyprus is the first member of the European Union supporting UAE to exempt from the Schengen visa.  
  • UAE was the first Arab country to be exempt from Schengen visa.
  • UAE has supportive position  within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
  • Both countries have bridging roles for the European Union an dMiddle East.
  • In 1977 the Cyprus Trade Centre was established in Dubai
  • Bilateral trade has grown up to 102 million US dollars in 2015
  • 70 Cypriot companies engaged in trading, services, engineering, and contracting operate in the UAE.
